Our Vets

Dr. Boon Chia Yun
BVetMed (London) MRCVS
Veterinary Surgeon
Dr Boon graduated in 2001 from The Royal Veterinary College (RVC), UK. She worked in the UK for a year before returning to Singapore in August 2002 to work in the Mount Pleasant Animal Hospital.
Looking to improve her abilities, she pursued a Small Animal Surgery Internship in the States. She then accepted a position as an Accident and Emergency Clinician at NorthStar VETS, New Jersey, for 2 years, before returning to Singapore in 2009.
Upon returning, she continues to emphasize the provision of excellent service and progressive medical care to her patients, as well as nurturing the potential of the nursing team to the highest. She strongly believes that open communication with clients provides for better medical understanding and will empower them to make better decisions for their pets. She continues to embrace Small Animal Medicine and Surgery, and has expanded into further learning for Rabbit Medicine and Surgery.
When she is not working at Town Vets, Dr. Boon enjoys wakeboarding, cycling, rock climbing, as well as spending time with her dog Sasha.
Dr Chua graduated from the University of Sydney in December 2012. She returned to Singapore upon graduating from university and joined Town Vets in 2013. She enjoys interacting with clients and working with animals. Being a veterinarian was Dr Chua’s childhood ambition as she was brought up in a multi animal household. Having achieved this, she is now working towards her interest in small animal internal medicine.
Outside of work, Dr Chua enjoys horseback riding in Malaysia and her family currently owns three ex race horses. Dr Chua lives together with three other Pomeranians, a monk parakeet as well as an Amazon parrot.
